Transforming Agriculture Through Digital Innovation

We've united ag-tech companies on a single public infrastructure, allowing farmers to access all services seamlessly. By adopting Kuza Biashara's digital extension model, we're delivering AI-powered, contextualized solutions with a human touch through agripreneurs. Our DPI roadmap, launched with a PPP, has led to the creation of Kenya One Network, inspiring 10 African countries to embark on their own digital agriculture transformation journeys. We fully support Open AgriNet's vision and efforts in this space.

Agriculture is at the heart of societal progress, and reimagining its future is not just an option—it's a necessity. We must shift the approach from a system centric, sectoral one into a farmer centric, universal one cutting across climate, energy, finance, and more. This can only be done with a strong DPI-led architecture, powered by open protocols and interoperable specifications leveraging AI all via an open community fostering collective action.

We're keen to support initiatives like OpenAgriNet, which create an enabling environment for open, interoperable protocols and shared infrastructure. OAN aims to not only address barriers to accessing diverse solutions and services but also unlocks private sector investments in agricultural innovation.

Integrating existing digital agricultural solutions and initiatives into the Open AgriNet (OAN) and India’s VISTAAR network will multiply their effectiveness and impact and create a stronger, more unified approach to benefit millions of farmers globally.

By bringing our diverse and collective expertise to the table as shared capabilities on an open global network with the OpenAgriNet initiative, we are not just addressing the unique problems in each country but building a collaborative architecture that creates a global model of success.

With over 50 years of research data, we value partnerships with technical experts to best utilize this wealth of information. We bring three key offerings to the OAN alliance: rich content, field research stations for agricultural studies, and our upcoming AI Innovation Hub under the CGIAR Accelerator on Digital Transformation. We are excited to contribute to sustainable agriculture through this valuable partnership.
